Interstate 64 Lane Restrictions for Rieder Road Interchange Construction

NEWS FROM O’FALLON CITY HALL FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

O’Fallon, Illinois – According to the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT), daily and nightly lane restrictions along Interstate 64, near the construction of a new interchange at Rieder Road, began on Wednesday, April 1, 2015. Work on the project is expected to be completed by June 2017.

“I ask everyone to please be courteous and careful in these work zones,” said Mayor Gary L. Graham. “This interchange, when completed, will be great for Scott Air Force Base, and for the future of O’Fallon.”

Work is scheduled to take place between the Green Mount Road (Exit 16) interchange and the Route 4 (Exit 23) interchange.

According to IDOT:

  • All westbound lanes, west of Route 158, will remain open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.
  • All westbound lanes, east of Route 158, will remain open from 6 to 9 a.m. and 3 to 6 p.m.
  • All eastbound lanes, west of Route 158, will remain open from 6 to 8 a.m., and from 12 to 8 p.m.
  • All eastbound lanes, east of Route 158, will remain open from 3 to 6 p.m.

Lane restrictions will allow for the construction of a new interchange at Rieder Road, just north of Scott Air Force Base, as well as the addition of more lanes on the interstate.
