Mayor Herb Roach Elected to the IML Board of Directors and Named Trustee of Illinois Fire Pension Fund

O’Fallon, Illinois   The Illinois Municipal League (IML) recently elected O’Fallon Mayor Herb Roach to serve as a Vice President on the IML Board of Directors.

“It is a privilege to be elected to assist in advocating for the benefit of the City of O’Fallon and all 1,298 of Illinois’ municipalities,” said Mayor Roach. “I look forward to working with municipal officials from across the state in improving not only my community, but the whole state.”

The Illinois Municipal League is the statewide organization representing local communities throughout Illinois. Founded in 1913, IML has worked continuously for the benefit of all 1,298 municipalities in Illinois to provide a formal voice on matters involving common interests.

Mayor Roach was also recently nominated to serve as a trustee on the newly created Consolidated Firemen’s Pension Fund. This fund will cover all firefighters in Illinois outside of Chicago and has approximately $6.4 Billion in assets to manage.

 “Again, it will be my honor to represent O’Fallon and Southern Illinois and to utilize my business and financial experience, which includes over 30 years of developing and managing retirement programs.  I hope to make sure that the program is managed properly and efficiently which should help save all Illinois communities money and see that the pensions are paid properly to those eligible,” stated Mayor Roach.
