O’Fallon City Cemetery Walk Goes Virtual for 2020

O’Fallon, Illinois – The O’Fallon Historic Preservation Commission has adjusted their annual cemetery walk for this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This year, virtual house tours and portrayals of O’Fallon citizens are posted on You Tube at https://bit.ly/39QVU8Q for viewing on your home computers or mobile devices.
Included in these videos are:
- Tour and narrative of local landmark and O’Fallon’s first structure to be listed in the National Historic Register; the Brown Residence at 212 W. Washington.
- Tour and narrative of a fine example of a Willard house and designated local landmark; the Mason residence at 109 Betty Lane built in 1914.
- Tour and narrative of designated local landmark at 109 W. Washington, originally the home of blacksmith August Behrns.
- Portrayal of former Mayor Joseph Taylor, owner of several O’Fallon area coal mines and builder of the Taylor Opera House at 220 E. State Street.
- Portrayal of Tom Gordon, bank cashier at First State Bank located at 104 S. Cherry
