O’Fallon EMS Week May 16 - 20

NEWS FROM O’FALLON CITY HALL FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

O’Fallon, Illinois – Mayor Gary L. Graham and the City Council have issued a Proclamation declaring the week of May 16 - 20, 2016 as O’Fallon EMS Week.  The Proclamation further extends appreciation to O’Fallon’s Emergency Medical Services Department for the vital services they perform in our community. 

“Our EMS Department provides critical emergency medical services that are second to none,” said Mayor Graham.  “When a serious illness or accident occurs in our City, I know that the residents of O’Fallon can rest assured that they are in good hands with our EMS employees.”   

In celebration of EMS Week, an open house will be held at the O’Fallon Fire/EMS Station #4 (1215 Taylor Road) on Wednesday, May 18, 2016 from 4 - 7 p.m.  Blood pressure screenings will be available in addition to many fun activities for the children.  The Air Medical Helicopter will land at approximately 5:30 p.m., weather permitting, and the Fire Department will perform a live extrication at 6 p.m. Free hotdogs, soda, and water will be served and tours of the Fire Station will be available.  There will be fun for all ages!  

Members of the O’Fallon EMS Department provide lifesaving care to those in need 24 hours a day, seven days a week and engage in numerous hours of specialized training and continuing education to enhance their lifesaving skills.

In addition to their continuing education training, EMS employees also conduct Child Safety Restraint inspections, HeartSaver CPR and First Aid classes for the community.  For more information, please call O’Fallon EMS at 618.624.4516.
