Prescription Drug Drop-Off Box Available at Public Safety Facility Starting March 5, 2016

NEWS FROM O’FALLON CITY HALL FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

O’Fallon, Illinois – Mayor Gary L. Graham is pleased to announce that the O’Fallon Public Safety Department will be re-instituting the Prescription Drug Drop-Off Box starting on March 5, 2016. Expired, unwanted, or unused prescriptions or over the counter medication can be dropped off on the first Saturday of each month from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. at the rear of the O’Fallon Public Safety Facility (285 N. Seven Hills Road).

“The collected drugs will be disposed of via incineration,” said Mayor Graham. “This method of destruction helps to keep drugs from entering our water supply and removes medications from homes where they could potentially be abused.”

Liquids of any kind, needles (including Epi Pens), inhalers, or any aerosol medications will not be accepted.
