Update on Accident Involving School Bus and Two Pedestrians
O’Fallon, Illinois – On Tuesday, September 8, 2015, at approximately 3:44 p.m. the O’Fallon Police Department responded to the 8400 block of E. Highway 50, O’Fallon, Illinois for a report of a traffic crash involving a school bus and two pedestrians.
It has been determined that the two pedestrians were walking west bound in the 8400 block when they were struck by the school bus, which was also traveling west bound.
The two pedestrians have been identified as 45 year old Dal Mager and 36 year old Junu Rai. Both Mager and Rai were transported to Saint Louis University Hospital, where Rai later passed away from injuries received in the crash. Mager remains hospitalized.
There were children on the bus; however, none of the children or the bus driver were injured.
The crash is being investigated by the Illinois State Police Accident Reconstruction Team and remains under investigation.
