HOWARD PLACE AND SMILEY DRAINAGE STORM SEWER INTERCEPTOR (PHASE 2 & 3) AND RELATED IMPROVEMENTS

NOTICE TO BIDDERS

The City of O'Fallon, St. Clair County, Illinois, will receive sealed bids for the HOWARD PLACE AND SMILEY DRAINAGE STORM SEWER INTERCEPTOR (PHASE 2 & 3) AND RELATED IMPROVEMENTS until 8:30 am on February 19, 2019, during regular business hours at the office of the City Clerk in the City Hall, in the City of O'Fallon, Illinois. All bids will be publicly opened and read aloud at 8:30 am on February 19, 2019. 

Plans, specifications, proposal forms and other bidding documents may be examined at the following location:

Plans may be obtained from the City of O’Fallon at the above referenced address. There is no cost for plans and specifications.

No bid will be accepted nor opened which has been received from any bidder who is not a bid document holder of record with the official bid document issuing entity identified in the Notice to Bidders. The City of O’Fallon, Illinois, reserves the right to waive any informalities in the bidding, or to reject any or all bids, or to accept any bid deemed to be in the best interest of the City.

The proposed work consists of furnishing all labor, materials, and equipment required to install approximately 1641 LF of various 10” to 36” storm sewer, and approximately 18 storm structures. Associated work includes removal and replacement of approximately 156 SY of pavement, 300 SF of sidewalk, 378 LF of fencing, traffic control, and site restoration. Removal of existing infrastructure to be replaced is also included. All work shall be performed in accordance with the project documents. 

Bidders must secure their information as to the conditions of the site and all local conditions affecting the work prior to submitting their proposals. 

Bidders are notified that their bid must include everything as described in the specifications.  No extra of any kind will be allowed unless ordered in writing by the owners. 

Each Bidder must deposit with his bid, security in the amount of not less than five percent (5%) of the Bidder's total bid price, such security being an acceptable bid bond, certified check, or cashier's check. The successful Bidder will be required to furnish a satisfactory Performance Bond in the full amount of the bid.

No Bidder may withdraw his bid for a period of thirty (30) days after the actual date of the opening thereof.  The City of O'Fallon, Illinois, reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive any informalities or technicalities in the bidding.
