Boil Order Status Update – August 28, 2017; 4 p.m.

NEWS FROM O’FALLON CITY HALL FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Water Area

O’Fallon, Illinois – All O’Fallon water customers, including those in O’Fallon and Fairview Heights, continue to be under a boil order until further notice. The boil order is not anticipated to be lifted until Wednesday evening, at the earliest.

The boil order is a result of a water main break, that has been repaired, at the intersection of Lincoln Trail and Mark Drive.

The O’Fallon Public Works Department is currently running tests of water quality, required by the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency (IEPA), necessary to lift the boil order. These mandated tests require that over 50 samples be tested, after being held for a minimum of twenty hours.

The O’Fallon Public Works Department will continue to monitor its water supply and notify customers when the boil order has been lifted.

We will provide more information when it becomes available.
