NORTH GREEN MOUNT ROAD CONSTRUCTION COMPLETE

NEWS FROM O’FALLON CITY HALL FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

O’Fallon, Illinois Construction on North Green Mount Road is substantially complete, traffic control devices have been removed from the roadway, and the traffic light at Cambridge Boulevard and Green Mount Road has been activated. The road is now fully-open to traffic.

There may be temporary lane restrictions until December 31, 2017, when the project is scheduled for final completion, please use caution in the area.

“This new road will be the future gateway to not only the new HSHS-St. Elizabeth’s medical campus, but also to the City of O’Fallon,” said Mayor Herb Roach. “In less than one-year, we were able to completely rebuild a major roadway, install additional turn lanes, medians, traffic signals, and a ten-foot wide bike and walking trail, all while maintaining two-way traffic in this busy area. I want to thank Horner & Shifrin, Baxmeyer Construction, Electrico, and everyone else that worked on this project for their great work!”

Construction on North Green Mount Road was 50% funded by the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) through an Economic Development Program Grant. The remaining 50% was funded by the City of O’Fallon.
