O’Fallon Police Department Accepting Applications for R.A.D. Program​​​​​​​

O’Fallon, Illinois The O’Fallon Police Department is now accepting applications for the Rape Aggression Defense Basic Personal Defense Systems (R.A.D.) course, which begins on October 11, 2017. Applications must be received by September 27, 2017 at 6 p.m. and can be found at https://www.ofallon.org/programs/pages/rape-aggression-defense-for-women.

“The R.A.D. course is a national program of realistic self-defense tactics and techniques taught for women only,” said Mayor Herb Roach. “Our highly-trained Police Force is great at hosting these types of courses and sharing their expertise and training with the community.”

The R.A.D. course, hosted by the O’Fallon Police Department at the O’Fallon Public Safety Facility (285 N. Seven Hills Road) will divide twelve hours of instruction into four three-hour blocks. Dates for the classes will be October 11, 18, 25 and November 1 from 6 – 9 p.m.

Classes are for women age 16 and up and are limited to 20 participants. All courses will be taught by nationally certified R.A.D. instructors.

The cost of the course is $25, and all proceeds are donated to the Violence Prevention Center of Southwestern Illinois.
