Please Remove Vehicles and Obstructions from Designated Emergency Snow Routes

NEWS FROM O'FALLON CITY HALL FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

O’Fallon, Illinois – Due to the National Weather Forecast of snow potentially impacting the City of O’Fallon, January 24 - 25, 2023, the City of O'Fallon would like to remind everyone to please remove vehicles and other obstructions from designated emergency snow routes so that snowplows may effectively treat the roadways.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning in effect from 6 p.m. on January 24, 2023 to 9 p.m. on January 25, 2023. Heavy snow is expected, with accumulation estimated between 5-10 inches. Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will likely become slick and hazardous. Travel could be very difficult. The hazardous conditions could impact the Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning commutes.

While driving, please give plenty of room to the plows on the roadway. Please remove obstructions from the roadway prior to snowfall. Violations of the emergency snow routes may cause your vehicle(s) to be subject to a tow at the owner’s expense. Here is a map of O'Fallon snow routes: https://arcg.is/1mLbX90

As a reminder: non-snow route Subdivision streets will only be addressed if snowfall accumulation exceeds depths of 4 inches or at the discretion of the Director of Public Works or his designee.
