Yard Waste Disposal with Waste Management

NEWS FROM O’FALLON CITY HALL FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

O’Fallon, Illinois – Residents who have experienced storm damage on their property from the severe storm that moved through the area should place their storm debris at the curb for pick up by Waste Management.  Waste Management requires the tree limbs and branches to be less than six inches in diameter and to be tied in bundles no larger than four feet long and 24 inches in diameter.  The bundles can weigh no more than 60 pounds.

Weekly collection of yard waste is included in the standard service rate and will be collected on the same day as trash.

Yard waste includes grass clippings, leaves, vines, hedges, shrub and tree trimmings, smaller tree branches, household yard plants, and holiday trees.

Yard waste may also be disposed of in paper bags or plastic trash cans. Cans used for yard waste must be clearly marked with the words “Yard Waste Only.” Residents may also request an additional 96-gallon cart from Waste Management at an additional cost of $1.50 per month for yard waste. Yard waste will not be accepted in plastic bags. Free “Yard Waste Only” stickers may be obtained at City Hall or by Calling Waste Management.
