An Open Door to O’Fallon”
A Weekly Note from Mayor Herb Roach

We have certainly seen our fair share of articles and information on TV, radio, and the newspapers about all the bad things that happened this past year.  So, I want to talk of a brighter tomorrow. Here are a few items that we can be happy about and look forward to over the course of the next few months and there will be more.

Restaurants and Bars:

  • Our Restaurants and Bars have finally been given the green light to reopen with guidelines (please help them).

Youth Sports:

  • The state is loosening the restrictions on youth sports programs.

Construction:

  • The construction on the new three-story professional office building on Route 50 is moving ahead.
  • The 200+ apartments and retail stores on 158 (Troy / Scott Rd) are moving forward.
  • The development along Frank Scott and Central Park continues at good pace.
  • The new retirement center, memory care, individual living and others on Seven Hills Road has begun construction.

Vaccinations:

  • More and more people are getting notified that they can get their COVID shots.

City Wide Celebrations:

  • The July Fireworks Display will be held on July 3rd at the Family Sports Park.
  • Your City Fest Committee is continuing to meet in anticipation that we will have City Fest on August 20th and 21st at the Community Park with the Parade on Saturday the 21st.

I am sure there will be more such announcements soon but here is a little ray of sunshine for this second week of February.

As residents of O’Fallon, you should always be able to reach out to your elected officials and ask questions about what is happening in O’Fallon. Having open communications is important to me and something I care very deeply about. Thank you for reading, and please remember, my door is always open (virtually, at least)!
