2021/03/29 - Mayor's Column: Get Out and Vote!

“An Open Door to O’Fallon”
A Weekly Note from Mayor Herb Roach

On April 6 2021, there are several local positions up for election.  It is important that you get to know who is running and go out to vote. In about two months, we will be celebrating Memorial Day.  Please remember that the men and women we honor on that holiday gave their lives so that we have the privilege to vote and choose those that represent us.

When decisions are made on how the City, School(s) or Township are operated, or what tax rate or fees they will charge, it is made by those that you vote into office.  Each of the above is its own separate taxing entity and has its own separate board and/or elected officials.

Depending on where you live in the City of O’Fallon, you have offices up for a vote in the following entities:

City of O’Fallon has seven Council Seats, City Treasurer, City Clerk and Mayor up for election. Out of those, there are two contested races:

  • Ward  2: Jerry Albrecht (Incumbent) and Todd Hackney
  • Ward 3: Roy Carney and Mark Richardson Jr.

There are also multiple positions up for election in O’Fallon School District 90, 203, and 104; O’Fallon Township, and Caseyville Township. I encourage you to learn about the candidates for each elected body that you can vote for.

Voting hours are from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. at your local voting place.

Please get out and VOTE on April 6, 2021

As residents of O’Fallon, you should always be able to reach out to your elected officials and ask questions about what is happening in O’Fallon. Having open communications is important to me and something I care very deeply about. Thank you for reading, and please remember, my door is always open!
