On a separate note, there are many new plans being developed for the Community Park and City Cemetery that you may be interested in knowing about and/or giving some feedback on over the course of the next few months.

There is a new walking and biking trail around the Community Park that we have received a grant for. This will help improve the trails around the perimeter of the park and help connect them with other trails around town. We are also early in the process of building a new All-abilities playground to replace the aging one in Community Park.

These are some of the changes that will occur at the Community Park over the next 2 years.  We are also currently looking to light some of the trails in the park in the near future. This fall, we will being the design process of building a new pool in Community Park. The existing memorial pool is near the end of its lifespan. There will be numerous opportunities to get involved in the new design as we move forward.

In addition, there are plans being developed for Columbarium to be located at the City Cemetery.  These will be an option for individuals or families that want to be cremated.  Once completed, these columbaria will offer the option of purchasing a vault in the Columbarium or the normal grave site. They will be beautiful and help expand the offerings for our cemetery.

If you have any interest in any of these projects and would like to give the council feedback, please keep checking the City website for the agenda on the Parks and Recreation meetings and the meetings of the City Council. All Agendas for our meetings are published on the Thursday prior to the meeting on the following Monday.

As residents of O’Fallon, you should always be able to reach out to your elected officials and ask questions about what is happening in O’Fallon. Having open communications is important to me and something I care very deeply about. Thank you for reading, and please remember, my door is always open.
