“AN OPEN DOOR TO O’FALLON”
A WEEKLY NOTE FROM MAYOR HERB ROACH
We are just two weeks to Halloween, and I want to share some information on TRICK- or-TREATING in O’Fallon.
WHEN IS IT: Monday, October 31st from 6 to 9 PM
ADVISE FOR Trick-or-Treaters:
- Only approach homes that are well-lit. Please pass by any locations that do not have lights on.
- Watch for cars that are turning or backing up.
- Use the sidewalks when possible.
- Don’t dart out into a street.
- Don’t dart out from between parked cars.
- Stay in familiar areas.
- Try to go in small groups vs alone.
- Cross at street corners.
ADVICE FOR HOMEOWNERS:
- If you are welcoming trick-or-treaters, leave your porch and/or driveway lights on.
- If you don’t want trick-or treaters, please turn off your porch and/or driveway lights during Halloween.
- Make sure that your walkways are clear of any tripping hazards.
- If you have pets, please take precautions so they don’t get out and chase or bite a child at your door.
ADVICE FOR DRIVERS:
- Please slow down and take extra precautions to look out for children walking near the streets that you are on.
