In O’Fallon, one of the things that makes our city stand out is the work of our Public Safety Staff.  Many people may not realize the number of activities that they perform during the year.

Below is a breakdown of some of the activities that our Public Safety team were involved with during the three summer months of July, August, and September of this year.

POLICE:

  • Number of traffic stops:1,502
  • Number of calls for theft: 92
  • Number of calls for domestic related issues: 119
  • Mental Health assistance calls: 65
  • Calls for Assault or Battery: 17
  • Training hours completed: 1,152

Plus, sixteen community events at our local schools, Kicks for the Soul, Torch Run, Cook Outs/Pop-up BBQs, Night to Unite, Open Houses and more!  Many of these functions also include the other branches of the Public Safety Team.

FIRE:

  • Fires responded to: 27
  • Rescue & Emergency calls: 34
  • Hazardous Conditions (No Fire): 39
  • Service Calls: 55
  • False Alarms & False Calls: 94
  • Total Responses: 316

EMS:

  • Number of Responses: 1,492

Metro East Communications Center:

  • Number of 911 Calls received: 6,581
  • Total Calls for Service: 24,769

Our Public Safety Team had some type of interaction with our citizens and others over 3,600 times during these three months.
