2023/12/25 - Mayor's Column: New Year's Resolutions for O'Fallon

“AN OPEN DOOR TO O’FALLON”
A WEEKLY NOTE FROM MAYOR HERB ROACH

As we move into the New Year, I would like to share with you some of the many things that we have laid the groundwork for the next year or two:

  • The new sewer plant construction will come online which will expand capabilities, put the plant in full compliance with State and Federal EPA requirements and reduce operating costs.
  • A study on the use of Solar Energy for the Sewer Plant.
  • We will see a lot of new construction since we have approvals already on the following projects:
    • Over 600 new residential units. This includes single-family and multi-family units.
    • 15 new Commercial Sites.
    • 2 new Hotels.
  • The Community Park will celebrate its 100th anniversary with a new makeover which includes the already built All-Children Playground; a New Swimming Pool; a New Cavins Center; and New Walking/Bicycling Paths and Additional Parking.
  • New Intersection at Central Park and Hartman Lane.
  • New City Website to make easier access for citizens to information.
  • The temporary move of City Fest to the Sports Park for 2024 due to the construction at the Community Park.
  • Completion of the Study for the future development of Route 50.

In closing I would like to wish each of You and Your families a Safe and Joyful New Year and THANK YOU for calling O’Fallon Home.

As residents of O’Fallon, you should always be able to reach out to your elected officials and ask questions about what is happening in O’Fallon. Having open communications is important to me and something I care very deeply about. Thank you for reading, and please remember, my door is always open.
