Major Case Squad Concludes O'Fallon Homicide Investigation

O'Fallon Illinois Bella Milano Homicide

On Saturday, The Major Case Squad concluded its involvement in the investigation of the shooting death of, 20-year-old, Ivan J. Marshall.  Ivan was an employee of Bella Milano, in O’Fallon, IL.  He was shot and killed behind the restaurant during the evening of 05/22/22.

As a result of the investigation, the St. Clair County State’s Attorney’s Office has issued charges for the following individuals:

-  Nathan T. Smith (17 years old) of Collinsville, IL with First Degree Murder.  Nathan was charged as an adult and his bond was set at $2 million dollars.

-  Nautica A. Young (18 years old), of Cahokia Heights, IL, with First Degree Murder.  Nautica’s bond was set at $1.5 million dollars.

-  Darrayvia D. Crump (18 Years old) Cahokia Heights, IL, with First Degree Murder.  Darrayvia’s bond was set at $1.5 million dollars. 

-  Nina M. Smith (38 years old), of Collinsville, IL, with Obstruction of Justice/Destroying Evidence and Aiding a Fugitive.  Nina’s bond was set at $90,000.

Nathan Smith is being held at the St. Clair County Juvenile Detention Center.  The remaining three are in custody at the St. Clair County Jail.

An additional juvenile was arrested in connection with this case and is currently being held on unrelated charges in the St. Clair County Juvenile Detention Center.  Charges against the juvenile for involvement in this case are pending.

The investigation revealed Ivan Marshall was targeted and this was not a random act of violence.  At this time, all individuals related to this incident have been identified and located. 

The results of this investigation are a direct result of the hard work and professionalism of the 23 Major Case Investigators who worked tirelessly for over five days.  Additional thanks to the Swansea Fire Department Dive Team and the US Marshal’s Great Lakes Fugitive Task Force for their assistance.
