2017 Youth Police Academy

O’FALLON POLICE DEPARTMENT

YOUTH ACADEMY

June 3 - 7, 2024

Open to all students entering the 8th and 9th grades. This summer, the O’Fallon Police Department is hosting a summer Youth Academy at Carriel Junior High (451 North Seven Hills Road).

The Academy will allow young adults to see and experience a variety of aspects of First Responders, while operating in an environment of responsibility and self-discipline.  There will be numerous tours to include the O’Fallon Public Safety Facility and the O'Fallon Fire Department Headquarters.  The students will be certified in CPR and AED use.  In addition, there will be presentations on Crime Scene Processing, Tactical Response Teams, and live fire demonstrations at the O'Fallon Police gun range.  Academy Participants will have the opportunity to train with the same simulators our officers use.  Classes will begin promptly each day at 8:00 a.m. with a physical training session and end at 3:45 p.m.  Attendance is required each day for the entire day.  Lunch will be provided on several days, with the students bringing a sack lunch on the other days.

The class is limited to 20 students and will fill quickly.  Admission will be on a “first come, first serve” basis, with preference given to O’Fallon residents and students.  There is a cost of $25.00 to be paid on the first day of the academy.

Prior conduct of the student will be a consideration for admission to this program.
