O’FALLON POLICE DEPARTMENT

YOUTH ACADEMY

June 24 through June 28, 2019

Open to all students entering the eighth and ninth grades. This summer, the O’Fallon Police Department is hosting a summer Youth Academy at Carriel Jr. High (451 North Seven Hills Road).

The Academy will allow young adults to see and experience a variety of aspects of First Responders, while operating in an environment of responsibility and self-discipline.  There will be numerous tours to include The O’Fallon Public Safety Facility, St. Clair County Jail, Juvenile Detention Center, and Fire House #4.  The students will be certified in CPR and AED use.  In addition, there will be presentations on Crime Scene Processing, Tactical Response Teams, and K-9. Classes will begin promptly at 0800 each day with a physical training session and end at 1545 hours.  Attendance is required each day for the entire day.  Lunch will be provided on several days, with the students bringing a sack lunch on the other days.

The class is limited to 20 Students and will fill quickly.  Admission will be on a “first come, first serve” basis, with preference given to O’Fallon residents and students.  There is a cost of $25.00 to be paid on the first day of the academy.

Prior conduct of the student will be a consideration for admission to this program
