3 Arrested and charged in Kidnapping and Shooting Incident

On Saturday, January 13th, 2024, at 4:07am, the O’Fallon Police Department responded to Memorial Hospital in Shiloh for a 58-year-old patient in the emergency room with a gunshot wound. The patient informed Officers, that on the previous day (January 12th), he was lured from Belleville to a residence in the 100 block of Brookside in O’Fallon by a couple known acquaintances. He was then shot and robbed inside the residence. He was held there while his bank cards were taken and used to withdraw money from his accounts at various locations. After being held for more than twelve hours, he was dropped off at the hospital for treatment.

 An investigation into the incident led to three individuals being arrested and charged with the following crimes:

 Tevion K Wright (23 years old) of O’Fallon, IL

1 count Aggravated Kidnapping Class X Felony

1 count Armed Robbery Class X Felony

1 count Aggravated Battery - Deadly Weapon Class Felony Class X Felony

1 count Aggravated Unlawful Restraint Class 3 Felony

 

Evangela L Randle (44 years old) of O’Fallon, IL

1 Count Robbery Class 2 Felony

1 count Kidnapping Class 2 Felony

1 count Unlawful Restraint Class 4 Felony

 

Charles E Jackson (55 Year Old) of St. Louis, MO

1 count Obstructing Justice Class 3 Felony

1 Count Unlawful Restraint Class 4 Felony

 

Each of the suspects were transported to the St. Clair County Jail pending additional court proceedings per the Safe-T Act. Everyone is considered innocent until proven guilty in court.

The victim was treated for his injuries and is expected to recover.

This was not a random act of violence. The victim was acquainted with the suspects and appeared specifically targeted based on their relationship.
