Arrest Made in Predatory Criminal Sexual Assault of a Child Investigation

On July 7, 2022, the O’Fallon Police Department began an investigation into a Predatory Criminal Sexual Assault allegation that occurred approximately 6 years prior in the 200 block of Woodland Ct, O’Fallon. 

On November 21, 2022, 82-year-old Malcolm N. Goodwin was taken into custody without incident. This case was presented to the St. Clair County State’s Attorney’s Office and the below charges were issued against Goodwin the following day:

Ct 1: Predatory Criminal Sexual Assault/Victim < 13 (Class X Felony)
Ct 2: Predatory Criminal Sexual Assault/Victim < 13 (Class X Felony)
Ct 3: Predatory Criminal Sexual Assault/Victim < 13 (Class X Felony)
Ct 4: Predatory Criminal Sexual Assault/Victim < 13 (Class X Felony)
Ct 5: Criminal Sexual Assault / Family Member <18 (Class 1 Felony)
Ct 6: Criminal Sexual Assault / Family Member <18 (Class 1 Felony)

Goodwin’s bond was set at $400,000 and he was remanded to the custody of the St. Clair County Jail.
