Charges Filed in St Clair Bowl Shooting
Mykel Davis and Otarius Thomas

On Friday March 22, 2024, The St Clair County State's Attorney issued charges related to the St Clair Bowl Shooting investigation from March 3, 2024.  The charges stem from a thorough investigation into the activities that took place just prior to the shooting and immediately after.  Our investigation has revealed the incident originated following a physical altercation between two individuals near the front counter.  During the altercation, several individuals displayed handguns and multiple shots were fired.  Two individuals were struck, each with a gunshot wound to the leg.  Both shooting victims have been treated and released from the hospital.  It should be noted when this occurred, there were families with children in the bowling alley in the area of the shooting.  Additionally, we do not have any evidence that this incident is connected to an earlier disturbance that evening involving several juvenile females at the bowling alley.

This was a complicated investigation due to many circumstances.  We are grateful to the surrounding police agencies who assisted that evening and to St Clair Bowl for the video surveillance they provided.

The following individuals have been charged so far.

Mykel Davis - 20 Years old, St Louis, MO - Currently in custody at the St Clair County Jail

-              Possession of a firearm without a FOID

-              2 Counts of Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon

Brandon Smith (32 years old Columbia, MO)

-              Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon

-              Obstructing Justice

Otarius Thomas (28 Years old Homeless)

-              Aggravated Unlawful use of a weapon

Imunique Williams (25 Years old, E. St. Louis, IL)

-              Aggravated Battery

The safety and well-being of our community remains our top priority. We will continue to aggressively investigate this incident and will present any new information to the States Attorney’s office for consideration of additional charges.  All persons charged are innocent until proven guilty.
