Charges issued in attempted murder.

On January 7, 2021 at approximately 1:40 p.m. O'Fallon Police Officers responded to the area of the 500 block of Hartman Lane, O'Fallon for a report of gun shots. Officers were present in the area and identified a subject fleeing the area on foot. The subject, identified as Devonjae Rodgers (26), was taken into custody in the area immediately following the incident. The incident was the result of a domestic dispute. No one was injured in the incident.

On January 8, 2021 the case was submitted to the St. Clair County States Attorney's Office for review. Devonjae Rodgers was charged with attempted murder (class M felony), aggravated battery to a peace officer (class 2 felony), aggravated assault/discharge firearm (class 4 felony), aggravated assault/discharge firearm (class 4 felony), and resisting a peace officer (class A misdemeanor). Bond was set at $1,000,000.00.
