Press Release

Gun Shots 300 Block Amy Dr.

At approximately 11:30 AM on 04-15-22, The O'Fallon Police Department responded to the 300 block of Amy Dr. for a report of shots fired.

Through witness reports and contact with a victim, it was determined a suspected drug transaction devolved into an attempted Armed Robbery. A black male suspect was reported to have fired 4-8 shots with a rifle at a victim who fled on foot. The black male then entered the passenger seat of a black Nissan midsize SUV with unknown temporary registration and fled at a high rate of speed westbound on Amy Dr.

A house a few doors down from where the incident occurred was struck with two bullets. The bullets did not enter the house and no one was injured during this event. The original victim of this incident has decided not to cooperate with the investigation. OPD is continuing to investigate the Unlawful Discharge of a Firearm. There are no indications this was a random event and we are confident the victim and the suspect are acquainted with each other.

If anyone has information on the suspect vehicle, please contact the O'Fallon Police Department at 618-624-4545.
