Press Release Criminal Sexual Assault Investigation

On October 28, 2019, the O’Fallon, Illinois Police Department initiated an investigation relating to allegations of a Criminal Sexual Assault.

The investigation resulted in the arrest of:

Eric Richardson

36 Years of age

500 Block Osage

O’Fallon, Illinois

The St. Clair County States Attorney’s Office reviewed the case and issued the following charges against Richardson:  4 Counts of Aggravated Criminal Sexual Assault Of A Family Member Under Age 18, 3 Counts of Aggravated Criminal Sexual Abuse Of A Family Member Under Age 18, 1 Count of Indecent Solicitation Of A Child, and 1 Count of Grooming.  Bail was set in the amount of $250,000.00.

Richardson was arraigned on the charges and remanded to the custody of the St. Clair County Jail.

The O’Fallon Police Department will not release any further information on this case in an effort to protect the identity of the victim.

Richardson has the presumption of innocence unless found guilty in a court of law.
